5 Day Chess Camp
Mon-Fri, July 27-31-9:00am-4:30pm
For Kids, K-8. All Levels Welcome

The 2009 camp was held at Collegiate School in Richmond, Virginia. The facilities were wonderful and Collegiate's staff was very helpful. Campers enjoyed a simultaneous exhibition with GM Ashley, an introduction to Pawn Mower puzzles, and tournament training. Campers also built their own chess sets out of nuts and bolts (Click here for instructions on how to build one for yourself). We were all thankful for the use of Collegiate's gym since it was oh-so hot outside.

We had a great time at Proctor's for the 2009 Chess Camp. Campers enjoyed chess lessons, solving puzzles from GM Ashley's Pawn Mower puzzle book, and a variety of supplemental activities.

The MATCH camp activities are primarily chess focused; however, campers had the opportunity to participate in several other activities which allowed them to take advantage of the fabulous location. These included: Rock Climbing, 3D Movie, Improv Workshop, Playtime at a local park, and a SACC TV Show.
